WATER SAFETY FESTIVAL

WATER SAFETY FESTIVAL

Led by Mr. Ken Roland and the Diversity in Aquatics Advisory Board which includes Mr. Arthur A. Lopez, Esq., Mrs. Maritza McClendon, and Mr. Lee Pitts . This is a free event open to the public and is done in conjunction with our Diversity in Aquatics Convention. To goal of the event is to increase preventative measures to reduce drownings by educate parents and their children what should be done when around water.  Swim lessons will not be taught at the event. There will be 6 stations conducted in both a pool and classroom setting at the Charles Hadley Aquatic Complex. The stations will comprising of basics learn to swim, lifeguard and pool rules, CPR/ Lifesaving Skills by the American Red Cross and a demonstration of Scuba Diving, Triathlon, Kayaking demonstration. Adults and children will have a chance to participate in a safe session by trained water safety experts at each station.Staff will also pass out water safety information to everyone who takes part.
